19 POs held in major swoop

GUJRANWALA, Dec 14: At least 19 proclaimed offenders and fugitives were arrested in Bela near river Chenab during a joint operation of Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat police here on Thursday.

Reports said that about 150 police officers and officials of the Elite Force surrounded the area at 6am. The operation continued for the whole day and the police succeeded in arresting 19 outlaws.

Police also recovered 10 riffles and pump action guns and 2,500 cartridges from them. The arrested outlaws belonged to Wahndo and Narang Mandi and were involved in heroin cases.
