KARACHI: Cardiology moot today

KARACHI, Dec 13: The three-day 6th Biennial International Conference on Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery begins today. The conference has been organised jointly by the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and the Pakistan Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon (PSCTS).

Chairman of the moot’s organizing committee Prof Arif-ur-Rehman Khan said over 800 delegates from the country and abroad would attend the conference. More than 240 research papers will be presented by the participating experts from USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, Iran, Jordan, France, Egypt, Libya, Kyrgyzstan, India, etc.

Pre-conference workshops and hands-on training programme are part of the continued medical education for professionals in the field and post-graduate students. Live transmission of open-heart surgeries are another important aspect of the conference.—APP
