LONDON, Dec 11: A large crowd of the PML (N) leaders has been hanging out here for the past 10 days braving a nasty weather ostensibly to chalk out a strategy for an election in which the party may not even participate or which may not even be held.

As the election strategy meetings of the PML (N) entered the second week here at party’s international secretariat, sources said names of candidates for four districts, Multan, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Lahore were reportedly reviewed. On the face of it, the selection of candidates for election is a long-drawn process and if it is being done so far away from home and in as oppressive conditions as the PML (N) is facing, it does become too time consuming an exercise. But perhaps it is the personal loyalty of the candidates to the PML (N) chief that is being tested in the prospective candidates.
