SUKKUR, Dec 10: A man was killed and a woman and a child suffred injuries when some people travelling in a train hurled hand-grenades and opened fire on Rajab Tart village in Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station’s area on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said that Haji Imdad Jatoi died on the spot while Ms Jamul, wife of Budho Jatoi, and Shahbaz, 5, suffered wounds. The injured were moved to nearby hospital.

Villagers claimed that the attack was an offshoot of a running dispute between Mahars and Jatois. They claimed that the armed Mahar tribesmen boarded the train at Ruk railway station and hurled hand grenades and opened fire when it passed the village before jumping down at Habibkot railway station.—BoC
