KARACHI, Dec 3: The third phase of Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project (LERP) will begin in Baldia Town within the next 15 days and the ongoing development works at the site will be completed in a month.

The construction of grid station, three primary schools, roads, dispensary, mini civic centre and shopping centres, shops, hawkers’ bazaar and mosque has already been completed.

This was stated in a briefing given by Project Director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha to Finance Adviser M.A. Jalil.

The adviser visited the third resettlement site of Baldia Town at Hub River road adjoining Naval Colony and second site of Taisar Town adjoining Gulshan-i-Maymar and Surjani Town and reviewed the ongoing resettlement process.

Mr Jalil was informed that so far 22,000 families, 4,000 of them in Hawkesbay, had been issued allotment orders.—APP
