KARACHI, Nov 25: The kidney donors of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation will be honoured at a ceremony at the Governor’s House on November 30, says a press release.

The Governor House ceremony is being held on a date when 20 years of transplantation at the SIUT will also be completed. So far, about 1,800 kidney transplants have been performed there.

The living donors are being honoured as they have gifted a precious organ of their body to save the life of their loved ones, says the press release, adding that the individuals in question, numbering around 1,600, after the donation-surgery are given full medical care at SIUT and have to undergo necessary tests, enabling them to enjoy a healthy life without any threat due to the kidney donation.
