KARACHI, Nov 23: The security arrangements at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah will be enhanced by employing well-trained security guards and close circuit camera surveillance system.

A decision to this effect was taken at the 71st meeting of the Quaid-i-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) held at its office on Thursday.

Federal Environment Minister and QMMB chief Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat chaired the meeting.

It may be recalled that an eve teasing incident took place at the Mazar led to rampage by rival groups in the Mazar gardens leaving many marble fixtures, lighting system etc destructed in the process some time back.

The mazar management board also decided to increase the height of the backside of peripheral area and installation of barbed fence in order to save the peripheral area from encroachments.

A committee was also formed to consider the installation of imported marble floor at the Mazar.

The Quaid-i-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) also decided to reconstitute the administrative and financial set up of the management board and to take trained and experienced people to handle finances and administration.

It also decided to invest the surplus funds of the board in bank to earn competitive rate of return on investment.

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, who was present on the occasion, was requested to construct drainage system along the peripheral area of the mausoleum.
