KARACHI: Schedule of by-polls

KARACHI, Nov 21: The Election Commission has announced that by-polls on the vacant seats of Sindh Assembly PS-71 Dadu-I and NA-250 Karachi XII will be held on December 30. The seats were vacant after the demise of PPP MPA Ghulam Nabi Shoro and MMA MNA Abdul Sattar Afghani.

Nomination papers for both the seats could be filed with the returning officer on November 27 and 28 while scrutiny on the next day. Appeals against acceptance and rejection of nomination papers could be filed with the returning officer by December 12 which will be decided by the election tribunal on December 11 while candidates can withdraw by December 12 and the final list of the candidates would be published on December 13.
