VEHARI, Nov 14: Opposition boycotted the district council session for ignoring it in the provision of funds for development projects here on Tuesday.

Opposition leader Ejaz Aslam and other members, including womens, protested for ignoring the opposition union council areas.

They told reporters that District Nazim Syed Shad Mehdi was providing funds to only favourites or ruling PML members.

They also alleged that on Tuesday they passed several resolutions without any agenda, and did not inform them about the meeting agenda, violating the rules of the Local Government Ordinance 2001.

Denying the charges, the nazim claimed that he was providing funds for the development schemes only and not for union council nazims. Earlier, the district council meeting held in the district council hall.
