MULTAN, Nov 13: The engine and two bogies of a special train taking the participants of the Raiwind congregation back to Tando Adam derailed at Iqbal Nagar station, 10km off Mian Chunnu in Multan division, on Monday.

However, all the passengers remained safe as the train was moving at a slow speed, said officials.

The incident occurred at 4.30am when the driver failed to stop the train in time and it ran into a hump of sand, they said.

A three-member committee has been formed for investigation.
