LAHORE, Nov 11: The first meeting of the PCB Appeal Committee, constituted to review the appeals of the two suspended fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif, will be held here on Nov 14, a PCB spokesman announced on Saturday.

Former Chief Justice Sindh High Court Fakharuddin G. Ibrahim heads the committee while former Test cricketer Hasib Ahsan and Dr Danish Zaheer are the two members.

The committee will review the appeal of Shoaib and Asif against their respective bans for doping offence. The ban was imposed by the PCB Anti-doping Commission headed by Barrister Shahid Hamid, with Intikhab Alam and Dr Waqar Ahmad as members.

The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Dr Nasim Ashraf said that he had advised the appeal committee to announce its finding as soon as possible.

The chairman said an early decision would help Pakistan to play with more concentration in the ongoing home series against the West Indies and will help the home side to plan ahead.
