Musharraf for joint action

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8: President General Pervez Musharraf has called upon the nation and political forces to work unitedly for eliminating terrorism from society. He was chairing a meeting of ministers and a select group parliamentarians from the four provinces on Wednesday. The meeting discussed the political situation in the country.

The president said that extremism and terrorism were the critical problems facing the nation and “we have to deal with it very forcefully”.

He said that protection of national interest is the government’s priority and all measures would be taken to safeguard it.

The meeting reviewed the development activities undertaken by the government in various parts of the country and measures aimed at reducing poverty and improving the quality of life of the average citizen.
