KARACHI, Nov 8: Anjuman-i-Asatiza of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology has demanded a caretaker vice-chancellor for the institution.

Anjuman-i-Asatiza President Suleman D Muhammad appealed to the deputy chairman of the senate that the proposed senate meeting of the Federal Urdu University on Nov 11 must be held, as it was mandatory for the nomination of a caretaker vice-chancellor for the university.

He said that the university was under a perpetual chaos after the premature resignation of the ex-vice chancellor of the university and only an appointment of a veteran academician with an adequate managerial quotient could assure a steady progress of the university.

“If the proposed senate meeting is postponed for any technical reason it would keep the university under chaos, adversely affecting even the everyday business of the university”, he added.

He reproached the current ad-hoc management against serious violations of rules and regulations and nepotism. —APP
