KHAIRPUR, Nov 1: The Mehmood Channa police booked on Tuesday more than 60 people belonging to Kalhoro community for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mohammad Hassan Channa.

Loung Channa, cousin of the deceased, alleged in an FIR filed under sections 302, 324, 17/3 HO that the accused had killed Mohammad Hassan and took away his 30 buffalos.

Shops in Saghiyoon remained partially closed on Wednesday due to the running dispute between Bughio, Channa and Kalhoro communities, which had so far claimed 20 lives.

Shot dead: Armed men shot dead a shepherd after snatching buffaloes near Mehmood Channa village in the jurisdiction of Mehmood Channa police station, Sobhodero taluka on Tuesday.

The shepherd, identified as Hassan Channa, was shot dead by armed men when he offered resistance.

His body was handed over to relatives after post mortem from government hospital, Sobhodero.

Reacting over the incident, armed men from the rival group attacked Hashim Kalhoro village and forcibly got the entire hamlet vacated and held four of the inhabitants hostage.
