Train, two pipelines attacked

QUETTA, Oct 27: Three security personnel and another man were injured in two landmine explosions in Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts, while three pylons of power transmission lines were blown up, suspending supply to Dera Bugti, on Friday.

Armed men blew up two gas pipelines in Pir Koh and Sui gas field, shutting down the Pir Koh purification plant, while unknown people opened fire on the Rawalpindi-bound Quetta Express near Mushkaf in Bolan district, injuring two passengers.

According to official sources, three power pylons of the 132kv Sui-Dera Bugti transmission line were blown up in Pash Bogi area in the early hours of Friday.

Power supply to Dera Bugti town and adjoining areas was suspended.

The sources said a powerful landmine exploded when a team of the Quetta Electric Supply Company reached the area with security personnel, injuring a major and a Qesco line superintendent. Two security personnel were injured in Tartani area of Kohlu district when a landmine exploded.

The Pir Koh purification plant was closed on Thursday due to low gas pressure as unknown people blew up a pipeline.

A pipeline supplying gas to the Sui plant from a well was blown up, the sources said.

Two people were injured in old Sui township when a rocket exploded near the wall of the local Technical Training Centre.

On Thursday, assailants opened fire on the Rawalpindi-bound Quetta Express between Mushkaf and Panir railway stations. Two passengers were injured.

According to railways authorities, the assailants fired two rockets before the train’s arrival.
