KARACHI, Feb 14: Nazim Karachi, Naimatullah Khan, has exhorted the students to work hard for the attainment of knowledge as they have to take over the reigns of the country in the future.

He was speaking as chief guest at an award distribution ceremony held at the Government College for Boys, Nazimabad.

He said that acquisition of education was obligatory in Islam, and added that Muslims’ decline started the day they gave up research in the field of education.

“We will have to go back to the Quranic education”, he told the students.

Naimatullah Khan said that merit had been given preference in the city government’s educational institutions and efforts were being made to raise the standard of education.

The Nazim informed that a coordinated programme for repair and maintenance of educational institutions had been started and improvement would be visible in the next few months.— APP
