KARACHI, Oct 7: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has established a 12-station dialysis centre, capable of doing 10,800 dialysis sessions a year, in Muzaffarabad for the victims of natural disaster, building collapse and other such incidents.

The equipment at the centre are fully equipped dialysis unit, complete with water treatment, dialysis machines, surgical and intensive care facilities, etc.

The SIUT has also made available an ICU and a fully equipped laboratory, costing Rs20 million, at the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences in Muzaffarabad.

On behalf of the SIUT, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan presented the keys of this dialysis centre to the Executive Director of the Abbas Institute Dr Bashirur Rahman. This centre will provide free dialysis services to the patients suffering from end stage kidney disease.
