KHAIRPUR, Oct 6: A sub-engineer of irrigation department lodged an FIR on Thursday charging the owner of Ranipur Sugar Mills and six others of stealing water.

The sub-engineer, Fiaz Hussain Soomro, said in the FIR filed at Kotdiji police station that on October 4, he accompanied by Daroga Imam Ali, Beldar Mohammad Sharif and other irrigation personnel visited Old Pata minor fed by Rohri canal and found that the water was being stolen through a pipe.

Meanwhile, six men appeared there in a jeep including Wajid Arain, owner of Ranipur Sugar Mills, Nadeem Arain, Razzaq Dino Arain and three unknown men. Wajid Arain pushed him tearing apart his shirt and slapped the daroga and the rest of irrigation officials, he complained.

In another FIR lodged at Ranipur police station, he stated that the same day they visited Rohri canal from RD188 to 800 and found some water pumps installed along the inspected path.
