KARACHI, Oct 4: A housewife was killed by unknown persons in the Quaidabad area on Wednesday, police said.

A duty officer of the Quaidabad police station described the incident as an act of robbery in which the bandits also killed the woman. The incident occurred in Muzaffarabad Colony.

He said Rukhsana, wife of Gul Muhammad, was found strangulated in the house.

The number of bandits who came to the house is not clear, but they took away Rs100,000 from the house, the duty officer said.

Police said that at the time of the incident the victim’s husband, a security guard, was at his workplace and their three children were in school.

It was the children who discovered the body of their mother and informed the neighbours.

Subsequently, police shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

Police have detained a relative of the couple, Sarfaraz Khan. He had recently sought loan from them.
