THATTA, Sept 24: Three young girls drowned in Gul Mohammad Jokhio village near Jangshahi on Sunday evening. A lot of rain water had accumulated in a roadside ditch in the village.
Two sisters, seven-year-old Maryam and nine-year-old Shahnaz, daughters of Ali Dino, slipped in the water.
They screamed for help and their cousin, Bakhtawar, 12, jumped into the ditch to save them but all the three drowned.
The bodies were recovered by villagers.
