KARACHI, Sept 21: Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Rahim on Thursday denied any encroachment in China ground.

Replying to a question from Nasrullah Shajih during question hour in Sindh Assembly, the Chief Minister in his written reply said the factual position is that control of entire China ground, Kashmir road, rests with Community Development Group of Offices, City District Government Karachi.

To a question by Hamidullah Advocate, the Chief Minister informed the House that no industrial plot was allotted in North Karachi Township between Jan 1, 2004 and Dec 31, 2004.

However, plot Nos. LX-2 and LX-2/1, measuring 8596.11 sq yards each in Landhi Industrial Area were allotted through open public auction at Rs 3000 and Rs 3100 per sq yard respectively. Thereafter both plots were amalgamated by Master Plan department, making it one plot No LX- 2, measuring 17190.22 sq yards.

He said Plot No LX-6, measuring 15573.33 sq yards, Landhi Industrial Area was allotted through public auction at Rs 4350 per sq yards during the period.

Replying to a question of same member, the Chief Minister in his written answer informed the House about details of total expenditure as had been incurred on maintenance, repair and reconstruction of roads of Lyari and Saddar Towns during the period from July 1, 2005 and April 1.—APP
