PESHAWAR, Feb 12: A team of Turkish Navy visited the Khyber Pass here on Tuesday.

Turkish Naval Force Commander Admiral Bulent Alpkaya was leading the delegation, which visited Michni Check Post in the Khyber Agency.

Mr Alpkaya was received at Landi Kotal by Khyber Rifles Commandant Col Taqdees Ahmed Lodhi.

The visitors also drove through the Khyber Pass, and visited other historical places.

Inspector General Frontier Corps (NWFP) Major General Taj-ul-Haq accompanied the guests during their stay at Landi Kotal.

Mr Lodhi briefed the naval team from Turkey about the geo-strategic importance, and historical background of the area.

The team was also informed about the measures taken by the Pakistan Army to prevent any illegal entry from Afghanistan.

The Turkish Naval team is visiting Pakistan on an invitation from his counterpart Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza.
