KARACHI: Hizb activist sues police

KARACHI, Sept 14: Senior Civil Judge Syed Ikramur Rehman Karachi on Thursday issued notices to SHO Nazimabad Karachi, Investigation Officer for October 5 on Rs1.8 million lawsuit filed by Hizbul Tehrir activist against his false arrest and trial in terrorism case.

Shahid Mehmood was one of the four Hizb activists who were arrested by police from Nazimabad on April 27, following a raid at printing press where pamphlets of proscribed organization were being published.

The court after preliminary hearing of lawsuit issued notice to defendants for Oct 5 and called their comments.—PPI
