Quaid’s death anniversary observed

ISLAMABAD, Sept 11: The nation observed the 58th death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah with reverence on Monday. The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the Quaid’s soul and progress and prosperity of the country.

Politicians, scholars and people from all walks of life at different seminars, lectures and talk shows reiterated their pledge to work diligently to transform Pakistan into a vibrant, progressive and enlightened country as envisioned by the leader.

Various organisations held programmes to highlight different aspects of the life of the Father of the Nation.

Television and radio channels broadcast special programmes to apprise people, specially the younger generation, of the struggle made by the Muslims of the subcontinent under the leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam for the creation of a separate homeland.

Newspapers also published special supplements on the occasion.—APP
