HYDERABAD, Sept 7: A monitoring team of the governor’s secretariat on Wednesday visited the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro. Vice-chancellor Prof Dr A. Q. K. Rajput briefed the team on the academic programmes and progress of development works funded by the Higher Education Commission.

The team’s visit is aimed at maintaining constant liaison with all the universities in Sindh in respect of their academic, administrative, financial and development activities to assess the progress and bottlenecks in the implementation of HEC-projects.

The team has to monitor the overall functioning and performance specially with regards to access and quality of education and promotion of research.

Deans briefed the team on the academic progress of their respective faculties.

Engineer Ghulam Sarwar Kandhar, project director of the university, also gave presentation regarding implementation and development works on various projects and schemes of the university.

The team visited the sites of various under-construction buildings of the university and expressed satisfaction specially on the building of Institute of Information Technology which has been completed within a short time.

The team expressed satisfaction regarding the ongoing and future programmes and academic and research activities of the university.
