HYDERABAD, Sept 6: The board of governors of the Public School Hyderabad approved a surplus budget of the school for 2006-07. A meeting, presided over by Hyderabad Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil held at the nazim secretariat here on Tuesday, okayed the budget, with Rs80,634,836 receipts against Rs80,617,680 expenses.

School Principal Abbas Raza Abbasi informed the meeting that the management had estimated recovery of Rs11,321,600 junior section, Rs8,036,600 girls section and Rs61,276,636 senior section fee structure in fiscal 2006-07.

He said that due to 15 per cent increase in the salaries/pensions as announced by the government, it was necessary to revise the fee structure from Nursery to Class-XII to sustain the burden of raise in salaries.

As such, he said, the tuition fee of each class had been enhanced varying between Rs100 and Rs200 per enrolment.

Speaking at the meeting, the district nazim said there was still room for improvement to save more amount through efficient utilization of funds and earning more money by introducing new disciplines in the school.

He said the district government was working on a proposal for utilizing the available land of the Public School for introducing new disciplines and establishing business, administrative, IT and accounting institutions on the pattern of Lahore University of Management.
