PCB names 16 for India U-19 matches

LAHORE, Sept 1: Pakistan Cricket Board’s junior selection committee on Friday named a 16-member squad for the two four-day matches against the touring India under-19 team.

The Indian team will arrive on September 4 to play two four-day games and four one day matches in a tour which will end on September 24.

Pakistan Under-19 squad is: Mohammad Ibrahim (Captain), Ahmed Shahzad, Syed Fawad, Shan Masood, Saadullah Ghori, Zeeshan Jameel, Ali Waqas, Behram Khan, Abdul Rauf, Raza Rehman, Rahatullah, Adil Raza, Mohammad Naveed, Immad Wasim, Nayeer Abbas, Shahzeb Khan.

The team for the one day matches will be selected on the basis of players’ performance in the Inter-Regional Under-19 Tournament which commences from September 5.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan-India Under-19 Cricket match scheduled for September 13 at Rawalpindi is likely to be shifted to Abbottabad Cricket Stadium due to unplayable condition of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium.

Although work has been completed at the stadium, the outfield is not ready yet, PCB Curator Mir Bashar told newsmen on Friday.

Regional Development Manager Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in NWFP Anwar Zeb Jan said there will be no difficulties in holding the match on its schedule at Abbottabad.—APP
