KARACHI, Aug 30: The Nationalist Students Alliance on Wednesday took out a rally on the Karachi University campus to condemn the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and his companions in a military operation in Kohlu, Balochistan, on August 26.

The students affixed pamphlets, condemning the killing, on walls in different departments of the university.

Addressing the rally, NSA leaders described Nawab Bugti as ‘a legend of the Baloch nation’, and alleged that he had been eliminated in a calculated move.

They termed the incident ‘a national tragedy’ and held the government responsible for it.

Earlier, participants of the rally marched through various departments due to which classes were suspended briefly. Strict security measures were taken by the university administration to ensure peace. A KU official said that the situation remained by and large peaceful and under control.
