KARACHI, Aug 21: A man and his son were killed in an armed holdup in Baldia on Monday morning. Police said that three armed men barged into a house in Qaimkhani Colony and held the inmates at gunpoint.

During the loot and plunder, they misbehaved with the female members of the family prompting Habibur Rehman, 50, and 20-year-old Muhammad Bashir to put up resistance. Police said that the bandits shot at them and fled. Both the father and son died on the spot, which created panic in the locality.

Police shifted the bodies to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

In Saeedabad, a 55-year-old man was killed by unknown bandits who had barged into his house on Monday morning.

Police said that some armed men barged into the house of Sharif and started looting the house. As Sharif attempted to put up resistance, the suspects shot him dead. The bandits fled with the loot.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road accident in North Nazimabad on Monday.

Police said that a motorcyclist Zubair, resident of Orangi Town, was knocked down by a speeding bus near Matric Board office. The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
