KARACHI: Shab-i-Mairaj holiday

KARACHI, Aug 21: The Sindh education department has announced that there would be a holiday for government and private educational in the province on 27th Rajab ie August 23, on account of Shab-i-Mairaj.

In the meantime, it also released a schedule of holidays, which was approved by the steering committee of the education department on January 4, 2006, under which the remaining holidays of 2006 for educational institutions are as follows:

Shab-e-Barat (15th of Shaaban), Youm-i-Ali (21st of Ramzan), Shab-i-Qadar (27th of Ramzan), Eidul Fitr (1st of Shawwal), Iqbal Day (Nov 9), Quaid-i-Azam Day (December 25) and Eidul Azha (three days).
