HYDERABAD, Aug 17: A large number of workers on Thursday took out a procession from the labour hall to the press club in protest against unemployment, privatisation of national enterprises and black anti-labour laws.

The procession was organised by the Pakistan Workers Federation.

The secretary general of the Pakistan Workers Federation, Latif Nizamani, who is also the central president of Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, and other labour leaders vowed to continue protest till the abolition of anti-labour laws.

They said that the working class was groaning under the weight of price-hike and rampant unemployment but the government had failed to ameliorate sufferings of workers.

They said that the government had added to miseries of people through privatisation of national enterprises and enactment of new anti-workers laws.

They condemned the IRO 2002 and removal from service ordinance 2000 and increase in working hours of both men and women workers.
