KARACHI, Aug 11: Leader of the opposition in City Council Karachi Saeed Ghani and former UC Nazims on Friday refuted the City Nazim’s claims that rainwater accumulated in several areas of Clifton, Bath Island, Gulshan-i-Faisal and adjoining has been drained out.

In a joint statement, they said the City Nazim should visit the affected areas before making such claims as rainwater was still accumulated in various areas of Clifton and other city areas even after passage of eight days of recent monsoon rains.

They said that the city government has miserably failed to resolve the problems facing masses, adding instead of making false claims and putting salt to their wounds, the City Nazim should concentrate on resolving problems facing masses.—PPI
