LAHORE: Jailed PTI social media activist Sanam Javed has approached a family court seeking dissolution of her marriage through khula, citing lack of mental compatibility with her husband.

In her suit, Ms Javed stated that she and her husband lacked mental compatibility, which had led to several problems in their relationship.

The activist said she could no longer continue living with him and requested the court to grant a decree for dissolution of marriage through khula.

According to the suit, the couple married on Sept 22, 2009 and have two minor children.

The court has fixed a hearing of the suit for Nov 25 and issued a notice to the defendant.

At present, Sanam Javed is detained at Kot Lakhpat jail to serve a sentence in a case of May 9 riots.
