PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday said the province was rich in natural resources and mineral reserves, offering investment opportunities in the minerals sector and other fields.

“Hold consultations with our relevant advisers and officials on potential investment projects in the province and develop viable proposals for further consideration,” the governor told members of a Chinese delegation during a meeting at Governor House here.

The meeting, attended by a delegation of Chinese investors, focused on investment opportunities in the province, particularly in the minerals sector, as well as the potential for investment in its economic zones, according to a statement issued by the governor’s office.

The governor told the Chinese investors that they could benefit from the investment potential of the economic zones established across the province.

Assures them of all possible facilities, support

He said that all possible facilities and support would be extended to investors, enabling them to put their money in the province with confidence.

Mr Kundi also advised investors to hold consultations with his relevant advisers and officials from departments on potential investment projects and develop viable proposals for further consideration.

Meanwhile, the governor addressed the inaugural ceremony of the two-day 16th conference of the Pakistan Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons here.

He said the province faced enormous challenges, including terrorism, displacement and prolonged instability, which had placed additional pressure on the healthcare system and other essential public services, according to another statement issued by the governor’s office.

He said access to quality healthcare was a fundamental right of every citizen and that a healthy population was essential for a strong economy, a productive workforce and a prosperous future.

Mr Kundi said that strengthening and improving the province’s healthcare sector remained one of the government’s top priorities.

The conference was attended by President of the Pakistan Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Prof Riaz Waraich, chief organiser Prof Muslim Khan and prominent members of the medical community.

On the occasion, the governor presented shields to medical experts in recognition of their professional services.

The governor emphasised the need to improve medical infrastructure, provide modern equipment and expand access to specialised treatment.

He said quality healthcare facilities should not remain confined to major cities but should be made equally available across all districts of the province.

Mr Kundi stressed the importance of strengthening medical colleges, teaching hospitals and healthcare institutions while promoting medical research, postgraduate education and advanced professional training.

He urged young doctors to enhance their professional skills and dedicate themselves to serving humanity with commitment and compassion.

The governor said people deserved a healthcare system that served them with dignity, empathy and responsibility and that professional organisations such as the Pakistan Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons could play a significant role in improving healthcare services.

He congratulated the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement and Honorary Fellowship Awards, saying the experience and dedication of senior medical professionals should serve as an inspiration to the younger generation.

Mr Kundi urged young doctors to uphold the highest standards of medical ethics and make service to humanity their foremost mission.

He said that a strong and efficient healthcare system was indispensable for building a progressive, prosperous and stronger KP.
