SWABI: The district administration on Thursday seized cheating materials, including pocket guides and notes, from several bookshops and photocopy shops in an effort to prevent malpractice in upcoming board examinations and ensure transparency.

Assistant Commissioner Razaar Fakhr Alam, accompanied by other officials, inspected various bookshops and photocopy centres and recovered material allegedly used by students to cheat in examinations.

Officials said the administration would continue inspections and conduct surprise raids at examination centres during the forthcoming board examinations to discourage the use of unfair means.

An official involved in the campaign said such actions would continue to protect merit and transparency in the education system.

He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the law.

Another official said the initiative aimed to promote a cheating-free examination environment by encouraging hard work, competence and merit among students.

He said photocopy operators producing micro-notes, booksellers and other individuals were contributing to the practice of cheating, adding that teachers or anyone else found facilitating such activities would face strict departmental action.

Officials said the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan would also be asked to strengthen monitoring during examinations.

Those found involved in malpractice would be blacklisted and barred from performing examination duties in the future.
