KARACHI: Roads around the Karachi Press Club (KPC) were closed to traffic on Wednesday amid a reported protest in the area, according to the Karachi Traffic Police.

The closures affected M.R. Kiyani Road towards Fawara Chowk and Din Muhammad Wafai Road. It also affected Sarwar Shaheed Road from the Coast Guard Officers’ Mess towards Angle Chowk.

Traffic police suggested alternative routes for the public, including Thana Gali, Aiwan-i-Sadr Road and Zainab Market, and the passport office road.

The protest, which was reportedly heading towards the Chief Minister’s House, had been announced by a primary teachers’ association at the KPC.
