GWADAR: Security forces have thwarted a human trafficking attempt in the Paroom area of Panjgur district, arresting 173 undocumented Afghan nationals.

Official sources said that a large number of Afghan nationals, driven by economic and social hardships as well as other factors in Afghanistan, fall prey to human traffickers in an attempt to travel to Iran, Turkiye and European countries via Pakistan.

An official said that security forces would continue to maintain a strict vigil and carry out operations to curb human trafficking.

He added that all the arrested Afghan nationals would be handed over to the police for further legal action.
