LAHORE: Ninety per cent of work on Nila Gumbad underground parking plaza has been completed, paving the way for opening of the facility for motorists.

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq also inspected the work on Sunday and reviewed progress in this regard.

Officials, on this occasion, told the DG that around 90pc of the project has been completed, while finishing work was progressing rapidly on all three basement levels. Mr Farooq also inspected the seating area being developed on the upper section of the plaza and reviewed samples of lighting fixtures and tiles.

He directed the officials concerned to expedite the remaining work, including asphalt carpeting of the link road connecting Mall Road with Nila Gumbad, installation of the parking management system, painting and flooring.

He also instructed the project director and contractor to complete the finishing work on all associated structures at the earliest and submit daily progress reports.
