QUETTA: The Balochistan government has formally launched the Youth Vocational Skills Training Programme in Quetta to equip young people with professional skills, reduce unemployment and promote economic self-reliance.

The programme aims to equip young people, particularly women, with technical and vocational skills aligned with modern industry requirements, enabling them to secure employment or explore self-employment opportunities.

Under the initiative, young people in Quetta are receiving practical training in various fields to build their professional skills.

More than 240 female students are currently enrolled in courses including beauty services, hand embroidery and other vocational skills. Special emphasis is being placed on practical training to enable participants to secure employment or establish small businesses after completing their courses.

The provincial government has set a target of providing technical and vocational training to more than 720 young people in Quetta under the programme. The initiative is expected to improve employment prospects, strengthen women’s economic independence and encourage entrepreneurship among young people in the province.
