Star Catcher

People often think that female celebs don’t get along or support each other. Well, it ain’t true. It is believed that it was actress and producer Hareem Farooq who introduced none other than Hania Aamir to the world of showbiz. The former reiterated this at a programme while plugging her film Mango Jutt. She said she was the one who launched Hania A in Janaan, adding that Hania A was always meant to fly and she only caught her early. Interesting. It seems Hareem F’s a good catcher. But why stop only at a single catch?

Marital Matters

Actor Muneeb Butt has a piece of advice for married couples, to which they should pay heed. He was on a TV show where he reasoned that people should keep their marital problems private — within the confines of the four walls of their homes. He argued that, once you talk about your marital issues on social media, others will have opinions on your private life and that social media is not the right kind of platform to air grievances. We totally agree with Muneeb B (as long as we’re not talking about domestic violence). In fact, not just married pairs, even singles shouldn’t talk about their… no, that’s stretching it a bit too much, perhaps.

Tiger Attacked

On October 18, Indian actor Tiger Shroff (son of Jackie Shroff) was leaving a football club in the posh Juhu area of Mumbai in his car when two gunmen opened fire at the front passenger seat of the vehicle at a close range. Luckily, the bullets did not hit Tiger S, but his driver and a bystander received injuries. Reportedly, members of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is after Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, attacked the actor. After the incident, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, met with Tiger S and assured him of his government’s full support in giving him protection and “not sparing anyone who is trying to threaten our film industry.” While we heave a sigh of relief that Tiger S came out of the whole situation unscathed, we fear that the aforementioned gang is getting difficult to handle for India’s authorities.

The Joke’s on Jerry

On October 9, American comedian Jerry Seinfeld was doing a show in Chicago. During the gig, a man interrupted the avowed Zionist and shouted, “Seinfeld, you will see, Palestine will be free… I’ve had enough of genocide.” Listening to this, Jerry S first broke into a dance and then replied, “I’m a racist. It’s a genocide, I’m into it. I’m gonna find out how much your ticket was and I’m sending it to Israel. No, I won’t, I’m keeping it.” Whether you keep the money or send it to Israel, Jerry S, you couldn’t have damned yourself better.

Quit India Movement

It should be worrisome for the international community to see the direction that India is heading in due to its bigoted government. On October 10, Indian actor Imran Khan — a nephew of Bollywood big gun Aamir Khan — took part in a protest in Mumbai alongside the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. The CEC has been accused of unfairly deleting the names of 16 crore people from the voters’ list. Imran K, who holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card because he lives in the US, was briefly detained by the police. Two weeks later, the authorities issued him a ‘leave India’ notice, ordering him to leave the country by October 28. How chicken-hearted the Indian government is! It thinks that by sending people away it will be able to hide its nefarious actions.

Hoo-ah! For Pacino

It has been announced that the legendary American actor Al Pacino, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in the film Scent of a Woman, will receive a lifetime achievement award for his awesome acting career and inspiring humanitarian work at next year’s Sag-Aftra actors’ union awards. The 86-year-old will be the 62nd recipient of the award. The ceremony will take place on February 28, 2027, in Los Angeles, and will be live-streamed on Netflix. Congratulations to Al P! His tremendous body of work, impressing us in movies such as The Godfather, Scarface and Serpico among others, is already a masterclass in acting, both for budding and seasoned actors.
