BANNU: The Water and Sanitation Services Company Bannu has dismissed 51 employees for remaining absent from duty, while warning notices were issued to supervisors over poor sanitation at Mandan Gate and Garhi Sher Ahmad.

Muhammad Saqib Khan, chief executive officer of the sanitation company, said that indiscriminate action would continue against employees for being negligent and remaining absent from duty.

Taking notice of the sanitation situation at Mandan Gate and Garhi Sher Ahmad, he directed the relevant supervisors to improve cleanliness arrangements, ensure the regular attendance of sanitation staff and discharge their duties effectively.

He warned that strict action, including dismissal from service, would be taken against supervisors who failed to improve their performance despite the final warning.

Mr Khan said it was the prime responsibility of the company to provide citizens with a clean environment.

He added that efforts were being made to improve sanitation in the city and its adjoining localities.

He made it clear that no leniency would be shown to employees who did not perform duties.
