KP emergency

THIS is with reference to the report “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in governor’s hands after Centre slaps emergency” (Oct 12). It is quite fair to say that the decision was not unexpected. Even though the editorial ‘Perilous misstep’ (Oct 12) noted with clarity that there was no “justification for governor’s rule”, one hopes that the steps taken would lead to overall improvement in terms of administration and security. There is no doubt that incidents of terrorism in the province increased because the provincial government had preferred confrontational politics way over focused administration.
