LOWER DIR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MPA Mohammad Azam Khan was allegedly abducted by unidentified masked men from his residence in Rabat area in Balambat late Friday night.
The incident triggered concern in the area, while the MPA’s family submitted an application to Khall police station against unidentified persons.
According to the family, a dozen masked men in plainclothes entered the house at about 11pm and allegedly picked up MPA Mohammad Azam Khan.
The family urged the relevant authorities to take notice of the incident, ensure the MPA’s safe recovery and identify those involved.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident remain unclear.
No further information was available about the identity of the men or the MPA’s whereabouts.
The police have yet to issue an official statement and the incident could not be independently verified.
Meanwhile, PTI workers in provincial assembly constituency PK-14 expressed indignation over the alleged abduction of their elected representative. They condemned the alleged raid on his residence, his alleged forcible removal and the vandalism, saying such actions against a public representative elected by the people were unacceptable.
