CHITRAL: The third two-day Chitral Expo 2026 is scheduled to commence today (Oct 10) at a local hotel in Chitral to boost regional economic activity, investment, tourism, agriculture and local handicraft.
The event is being jointly organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Exhibition stalls will feature a diverse array of Chitral’s specialties, including traditional handicraft, dry fruits, organic honey, precious gemstones, minerals and indigenous cuisine.
The expo is designed to provide local traders and artisans a robust platform to introduce their products, explore new markets and establish crucial business linkages at the national level. The opening ceremony will start at 10:30am, with the commandant of Chitral Scouts as the chief guest.
On the second day, an inter-departmental coordination meeting will be held at 10:30am to discuss Chitral’s economic development.
The meeting will bring together representatives from key government departments, public organisations and non-governmental institutions. The expo will conclude on Oct 11 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor would be the chief guest on the occasion.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry have appealed to investors, buyers, business community and general public to attend the exhibition in large numbers to support local products and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
SWEARING-IN CEREMONY: The newly elected office-bearers of the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry were sworn in at a ceremony here.
Nauman Bashir, director general of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), administered the oath to the new office-bearers.
The newly elected office-bearers included president Engineer Fahad Azam, senior vice president Qazi Faisal Ahmed Saeed and vice president Meraj Hussain.
