Two witnesses at Riyadh airport said that a plane operated by the national flag carrier Saudia had suffered visible damage, after Yemen’s Houthis claimed a series of attacks targeting the facility, AFP reports.
Earlier, a source briefed on the matter told AFP that at least one plane at the airport had suffered catastrophic damage, while a second source said three planes were struck.
Yemen’s Houthis announced three separate attacks targeting the airport on Thursday.
Multiple explosions were heard across the capital, and Saudi-led forces said they had intercepted missiles fired at the airport.
The two witnesses said a Saudia plane parked at Terminal 4 had visible damage to its fuselage, including cracks and holes.
The terminal is currently used by Saudia and Riyadh Air for domestic flights.
