LARKANA: A man was allegedly shot dead by thieves who stole buffaloes from a house in Abdul Karim Brohi village, within the limits of the Lashari police station, late on Wednesday night.

The unidentified thieves broke into the house and were escaping with the buffaloes when the homeowner, 30-year-old Muhammad Juman, son of Gul Baig Brohi, woke up and chased them. They shot him dead and fled.

Police reached the spot, took statements from the deceased’s family and launched a search for the culprits with the help of local residents. The body was taken to the taluka hospital, where it was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.

Nazir Ahmed Brohi, a relative of the deceased, said the thieves entered the house late at night and were leaving with the buffaloes when the family woke up and pursued them. He said the thieves opened direct fire on them, killing Juman.
