QUETTA: The All Pakistan Lawyers Action Committee has declared its full support to the march and demands of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, chairman of the committee Ali Ahmed Kurd, and representatives of different bar associations and councils said the PTI march would be a historic struggle for strengthening democracy and the rule of law in the country.

The lawyers said the PTI move is aimed at supremacy of the Constitution and law, an independent judiciary and parliament and against the ongoing political and economic crisis, deteriorating law and order, illegal arrests of political and human rights leaders and workers, inflation and lawlessness.

They called for the immediate release of PTI founder Imran Khan and other party leaders and workers detained across the country.

The committee urged the government to immediately accept all demands of the PTI and ensure safety of the participants in the party’s peaceful rally. It warned that if governor’s rule was imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or any ‘undemocratic action’ was taken, lawyers would launch protests against it across the country.
