ISLAMABAD: KPK Himalayas and Punjab Harappa reached the final of the PFF National U-17 Championship after contrasting semi-final victories here at the Jinnah Stadium on Thursday.
KPK Himalayas edged Sindh Indus 2-1 in the first semi-final while Punjab Harappa stunned unbeaten Balochistan Hingol 2-0 to set up the title clash.
Himalayas dominated the first half and took the lead through a header before doubling their advantage when a player reacted quickly to a loose ball following a long free-kick.
Indus fought back after the interval and created two good chances but failed to convert.
They eventually pulled one back in the 80th minute when Ahmed Ali capitalised on a goalkeeping error. Himalayas, however, held on to secure the victory.
In the other semi-final, Harappa took the lead in the seventh minute through a first-time flick into the top corner following a cross from the left.
They doubled their advantage before half-time when a player cut in from the right and placed the ball into the corner.
Balochistan Hingol pressed hard after the break but could not find a way through.
The final of the championship will be played at the Jinnah Stadium on Saturday at 7:00pm (PST).
