KARACHI: Markhor IT Solutions (MIT) beat Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) by 75 runs on the third day of the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
Khalid Usman finished with match figures of 10 for 62, including six for 23 in the first innings, while Hasnain Nadeem contributed 176 runs across both innings, including a century in the first.
Elsewhere, Pakistan Television’s (PTV) Mohammad Ammar struck 124 against Ghani Glass at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, while State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) Shahid Aziz claimed five for 41 against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar.
At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, MIT resumed their second innings on the overnight score of 29 for one and were dismissed for 190 in 54.2 overs. Hasnain, who had scored 121 in the first innings, top-scored with 55, while Bismillah Khan contributed 36. Danish Aziz took four for 33.
Chasing 221, OGDCL were bowled out for 145 in 32.5 overs despite Saad Khan’s fighting 96, which included 15 fours. Khalid and Mohammad Ismail claimed four wickets each, conceding 39 and 48 runs respectively.
In Abbottabad, PTV resumed their first innings on 324 for four and were dismissed for 428 in 93 overs. Overnight batter Ammar converted his unbeaten 80 into 124, an innings that featured 16 fours and two sixes.
Taimur Khan (97) and Yasir Khan (71) were the other notable contributors.For Ghani Glass, right-arm fast bowler Khurram Shahzad was the most successful, taking four for 133.
Trailing by 326 runs, Ghani Glass reached 183 for three in 58 overs at stumps, with Hammad Butt scoring 63 and Hussain Talat remaining unbeaten on 39.
Haris Rauf took two for 51.In Peshawar, KRL resumed their first innings on 127 for eight and were dismissed for 144, Shahid Aziz finishing with five for 41.
SBP were then bundled out for 56 in 21.2 overs as Arshad Iqbal grabbed four for 24 and Faheem Ashraf picked up three for 14.At stumps, KRL had reached 173 for two in 38.2 overs in their second innings, with Mohammad Faiq unbeaten on 57 and Shahzaib Khan scoring 52.
At the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) resumed on 140 for two and were dismissed for 234.
Shan Masood scored 83 and Azan Awais 62, the pair adding 106 for the third wicket.
For Kingsmen Academy, Mir Hamza took four for 49.At stumps, Kingsmen Academy were 167 for three in 43 overs with a lead of 150. Captain Mohammad Tayyab Arif scored 70 and Mohammad Huraira contributed 42.
