ISLAMABAD: Sindh Indus will face KPK Himalayas while Punjab Harappa will meet Balochistan Hingol in the semi-finals of the PFF National U-17 Championship after the group stage ended at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium on Tuesday.
Both the last-four stage matches will be held on Thursday.
The final day of the group stage produced two contrasting encounters.
In the day’s opening match, Sindh Mehran and GB Karakoram played a closely contested match which the latter won 1-0.
Nawazish scored in the 64th minute as GB Karakoram finished their campaign with three points.
The day’s second game saw Balochistan Hingol and KPK Himalayas play out a goalless draw.
Both the sides had enjoyed unbeaten campaigns heading into the final group fixture but neither could find the breakthrough against each other.
The result saw KPK Himalayas top Group C with seven points, while Balochistan Hingol also earned seven points, taking second place on goal difference.
KPK Himalayas scored 13 goals without conceding while Hingol finished with nine goals scored and conceded just two.
Sindh Indus entered the knockout stage after topping Group A while Punjab Harappa finished first in Group B.
The final of the event will be staged on Oct 10.
